2017, Off to a Good Start

Hello,

I thought I would share a few projects that I've worked on so far this year.  I feel like 2017 is off to a great start, creatively.  This post is heavy with photos.

Jane Davenport, an amazing artist, has a ton of new products out that I just had to get my hands on.  I bought the set of washi tapes that has six roles in various sizes and each roll has a part of the face on it for you to mix and match.  I found and art journal page with a background already on it and here's what I started out with.

Then I continued on to end up with this.  I had a wonderful time creating either part of the body and adding more of the face and hair.  So many possibilities with these tapes.  I also bought her Magic Wand pencils and use them to create the hair.

I enrolled in her free workshop with the first lesson, though I didn't have the products she used in the lesson I used what I had and created this lil diddy.  Again, I used a page that already had a background on it (somewhat of a background).  I used her Mermaid Markers, which are water brushes filled with different colored inks.  Let me just say that these are fantastic and very pigmented!!! Side note: she does have a pair of water brushes in her line up.  A fine and broad tip and the price point is unbelievable.  I will be going back for more of those. ...you can never have too many.

I also fiddle around with sculpting clay on glass vases, bowls, etc.  Two years ago I bought this nicely shaped glass vase that you see in the picture below.

I have never worked on such a large piece and wasn't sure I would be even able to fit it in my oven,  I was intimidated by this piece for 2yrs and decided this was the year, I'm going for it, and so I did.

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing.....Wind!

So there you have it, some of the art I've been up to so far.  I appreciate you stopping by, I love it when you leave comments (hint hint)

Until the next blog...enjoy!!
