Feature Stamp Tuesday

Today I'm featuring my Pride  stamp.   At 3.5"x 4.0", this is a nice size statement stamp, representing the pride and strength of an African American woman. Wouldn't this stamp make a great card for Kwanzaa?

When I first carve or buy a stamp, I like experimenting with how the stamp will look on various backgrounds.  I tied these experiments into this journal page, adding stitch lines to draw all the images together.

Top left was stamped on gelli print paper.  Top right stamped over a stamped background.  Bottom left stamped over Heidi Swapp Specialty Paper that was colored with distress inks.  And bottom right was stamped with the left over ink from the top right.  I used some of the scraps from these papers to glue around the  bottom and sides of the page to finish it.  These are not the only experiments I could have done with the stamp, but it serves as a reference of what may be to loud or over powering as a background for this stamp. I'm pleased with my page though.

I appreciate your visit today, leave a comment to let me know you were here.  If you'd like to add Pride to your collection, visit here.

Until the next blog..enjoy!
