Paper Saturdays share - Art Journal Page "Dream a little Dream"

Hi, long time no post!

Today I'm sharing my art journal page, Dream a little Dream, with you and Paper Saturdays.  I don't know about you but I have always found dreams to be very fascinating. There are books to help you decipher dreams (very interesting), scientific thoughts on why we have them and where they come from(also interesting).  What ever the reasons for these involuntary images, scenes, emotions, and sensations that visit us (or did we call upon them? hmmmm...) in the night, I like them, am frighten of some and look forward to what my crazy unconscious mind will dig up next. Let me just add, that 90% of my dreams never make any sense to me.

Ebenezer Scrooge, from Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, summed it up best (though he was speaking of a ghost); "You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blob of mustard, a crumb of cheese, an underdone old potato, yes, that's what you are and old potato!"

I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers and inks to color this entire page.  I'm peeking in or looking out of a dream of random imagery.

That's it for me today, as always, thank you so much for visiting.  Don't forget to leave me a comment, I'd love to hear what you think about dreams and if you get a chance please check out the awesome pages folks are sharing over on Paper Saturdays.

Until the next blog...sweet dreams!

Carol

  3. I love your dream girl, Carol, whether peeking into or out of a dream! A great narrative to go along with your beautiful artwork today, too! I have always know you are a wonderful artist, but I like you as a author, too!

  4. I so agree with your words about drams. I have always loved them. After having grown kids and realizing they are totally adults and out of my domain or control, I tend to have anxiety dreams where I am in a maze or cannot find something. I have to say they are always different and much more creative than my conscious brain could ever come up with.

  5. I really like the softness of your drawing and all the interesting items you added to the background. I am fascinated by dreams too, and sometimes believe they can be prophetic. Blessings!

  6. Gorgeous artwork! As for dreams, I like them if they're good and not if their bad! Luckily for me, they're mostly good :) Happy Paper Saturdays (Sunday!)!
