Got Kale??

I just made the most delicious snack ever! Kale Chips

Real easy to make.

1/2 bunch of kale (because this was enough just for me)
1/2 tsp of olive oil (or coconut oil)
a lil bit of toasted sesame oil (optional, but oh so tasty)
a dash of sea salt
sesame seeds (again optional)

Turn oven on to 250

Wash the kale and strip from the stalks (disgard the stalks).  Dry the kale really well with paper towels.  You really want the kale very dry otherwise it may not turn crispy in the oven.

Place kale in a bowl and add the oil.  Mix the kale and oil together with your hands.  Your want the oil to coat the kale really good.  Really get in there and massage the oil on  those leaves, don't be shy!

Add the sea salt and the sesame seeds.  Mix again. Then spread the kale on a cookie sheet.  Try to make a single layer, I know it will look pretty crazy on the sheet all those crazy curly leaves.

Place in the oven for about 15 min.  Then as best you can, turn the kale over and roast for another 15 mins.  (this may take a little less/longer depending on your oven and the amount of kale).

All of the kale will be crispy when done.  Now eat!

Let me know how you liked them.

Until the next blog....enjoy!!

  1. Not sure if I am up for Kale Chips, Carol, but I would give them a try if there was wine to "go with!" There is a billboard ad in the Boston Area that exclaims, "Kale Yeah!" I forget the product...

    1. Kay, they really have a "mild" taste and you can season them anyway you want. And yes, there will be wine!
