Just a little project Share

Hello crafty friends,

So, I was making pretty good progress with straightening my studio area, when I came across this lil discarded diddy.  Using one of my hand carved stamps,  I was going for some type of storm theme.  The storm wasn't working out so it was tossed aside.

Only too happy to take a break from cleaning, I decided what this needed was  my Crazy City stamp.  No, really, that's what I call it.  I carved it so the buildings looked wonky and cartoonish.

The end results reminds me of all the comic books I read as a young girl living overseas.  Anyone remember what the Daily Planet was??? Well, that thought led me to making the tag, Like "A Reporter on the Scene". The woman has foam adhesive on the back, so she's slightly popped out, creating a little shadow on the background. Not intentional, but how wonderful.

Both of these projects made me feel a bit nostalgic.  We had a huge box of comic books, that we would trade with other Americans.  My brothers were more partial to the super hero books; Fantastic Four, Superman, Thor, and Spider man. Whereas, I read Hot Stuff, Little Lotta, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Archie, and Richie Rich.  Who knew these comic books would be worth a lot of money today.  Where you a comic book fan growing up? If so, what was your favorite?

That's it for now, until the next blog....enjoy!

  1. Thanks for your advice Carol- it was really really helpful. Most people don't know what to say to you-mainly because a lot of them don't understand. And while I'm here I love your art in this post! You really get the city feel with those colors! Nice. And thanks again!
