My name is Carol Porter and I’m a mixed media artist. I design cling stamps, digital stamps, cut outs, stencils, and paintings for my small business Nay’s World. Here, I’m blogging about mixed media tips and techniques, showing off new designs and babbling about random things. Nice of you to stop by.

Stencil Me!!
I have really been enjoying the Creative JumpStart 2015 Workshop and the "Out of Box" theme. It's hosted by the creatively talented Nathalie Kalbach. She is a mixed media artist and is also the Brand Ambassador for Liquitex. If you have not seen her work, I highly encourage you to check her out. You can visit her blog here, which is where you also want to go to enroll in the Creative Jumpstart 2015 Workshop. There are 23 artist in all, WOW!!
Today is a Show and Tell day, so I'm showing off my attempt at a stencil selfie. Julie Fei Fan Balzer (another one of my favorites) taught stencil making. This stencil kicked my butt!!! You really have to think about the design. I have dreads and I wasn't sure how to design the stencil to show that. And I also wear glasses, which I tried to fix on the finish products and I also had to fix the eyes too. Over all I'm pleased with the out come.
I used this photo
Not wanting to waste all the wonderful ink left on the stencil, I turned the stencil over onto another piece of paper. Those are the pictures on the right.
Great workshop, I can't wait to see what's next. Thanks for stopping by.
Until the next blog...enjoy!!
Carol
